What's the difference between soft style and standard shirts?
Soft style shirts are 100% ringspun cotton. Thinner and softer than our standard shirts, they also have a thinner neckline and are a little more fashion fitting. They are available in s-3xl.
For standard shirts we use industry standard, 100% cotton Gildan T-shirts. They are a little thicker than our soft style shirts with a thicker neckline and have a boxier fit. They are available in s-5xl.
Both styles should fit true to size, but feel free to come by the shop and check them out in person.
Heather blends are a blend of polyester and cotton and are ultra soft, but the designs we can print on them are more limited.
What about other styles?
On the site we have standard and soft style shirts, but we also offer ladies cuts, youth sizes, long sleeves, tank tops, hoodies, toddler tees and onesies. In store we also occasionally have tie dyed and bleached shirts, raglans, zip up hoodies, pocket tees and more. We use industry standard brands and materials but we do understand that not everything fits the same, so feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Ladies’ shirts fit significantly smaller than our unisex shirts. For ladies soft style tees we use a fine jersey slim fit shirt, and in order to keep colors consistent, it is the same brand as our unisex soft style tees.
For youth shirts, long sleeves and hoodies we use industry standard Gildan brand items.Tank tops can vary based on colors, but we try to use Gildans when possible.
Anything else we should know?
On occasion, we may have to substitute brands due to supply chain issues or time constraints, and some colors are only available in certain styles. For color purposes we also make the decision to use Next Level brand for a few of our soft styles. If we want the baseball shirts to be the right orange, or we need a nice khaki color etc. we need to make adjustments, so we currently use next levels for Orange, Sand, Tan, Dark Green and Charcoal.
Next levels and our soft style poly blends may fit slightly smaller than our regular soft style shirts, but we’ve found them to be true to size as well. You can check out sizing charts by clicking the sizing button on this page or the main menu.
Where are you located?
We are located in the heart of Southwest Houston, Texas in a shopping center at the corner of West Bellfort and South Gessner. Our address is 8536 W Bellfort, Houston, TX 77071.
We’re proud of where we’re from and we do have several designs that represent the Southwest, but we also have designs that represent pretty much every part of Houston and the state of Texas. People routinely come from all over the city, state and country to check out our unique products and custom shopping experience.
What is custom retail?
Custom retail means that you’re in control of what you wear. Pick from hundreds of designs, countless colors and style options to make a shirt that expresses you, and it can normally be done while you wait.. Whether you’re trying to match your mood or the latest kicks, there’s always something at 713 shirts that will work. You can find more information on our custom retail services under the customs tab on the menu.
Can you print my design?
Yes! As long as you have the right files, we can print you one shirt or 1000. Single customs can be done in about an hour, depending on how busy we are, but you can find more information on our custom printing services under the customs tab on the menu.
Do you only make stuff that represents Houston?
While most of our shirts represent the 713, we do have a bunch of designs that are more universal. We also have shirts that represent the state of Texas as well as a bunch of designs that represent other places across the globe, but we always try to sprinkle a little 713 flavor into everything that we do.
We know that people come to our shop to find cool stuff for them to express their love for H-Town, so we make sure not to disappoint, but we also have customers that love our southern style across the globe. Over the years we’ve shipped thousands of packages all over the world, and whether its to people that have relocated but still want to represent the 713, or it’s people that just want a cool shirt to wear, there’s something for everyone at 713 Shirts.
Do you only sell shirts?
Shirts and stickers are our bread and butter, but we’ve also made some of the coolest accessories around. Our 713 Shorts routinely sell out, and our new Toppies cap line has gotten great reviews, but that’s not all.
Our lighters are always in demand, and our 713 Towels, pins, pillows and jibs as well as our Air Freshers, posters, and pillows are all pretty popular, and we can’t forget about the large selection of patches we’ve done with Patch Collection. We’ve also made a coloring book, mugs, flags, and a whole lot more over the years.
A lot of these items are limited edtions or pre-orders, so make sure you’re following us on social media for all of the latest products and releases.
Can we find your items anywhere else?
We like to make everything we sell, so we’re picky about who we work with and where we sell our items. We mostly sell our own products in the shop, but you can find our stuff in a few other places on occasion.
We also do pop ups from time to time, so make sure to follow our social media and find out where we might pop up next. Having so many items, and staying pretty busy with print jobs, it’s not always easy to scale it down and take the show on the road, but over the years we’ve done The Houston Reggae Fest, Sneaker Summit, Hip Hop Vintage Flea Market, H-Town Happy Hour and many more. If you have an event coming up, feel free to contact us about being a vendor and we’ll see if we can make it happen.
Can we order online and pick up in store?
Yes! Select the local pick up option at check out, and we’ll call when it’s ready. Please make sure your phone number is correct if you want to receive a call. We’ve found that a lot of people don’t like to answer calls if they don’t have our number saved, so feel free to save the number, but don’t worry, you should also receive an email when your order is completed. You have 30 days to pick up your order from the time it’s completed.
When will my shirts be ready?
Depending on when and what you order, shirts can be ready for pick up or ship out the same day. We don’t fill orders on our off days, and if your size, color, or style is out of stock, we’ll have to order the shirt, but it still doesn’t take too long. Most orders are ready within a few days and typically arrive in about a week. Some items do take longer, and pre-orders don’t ship until they are ready. If you placed an order for pickup, give us a call to check the progress, and if you placed an order for shipping, feel free to email us at 713shirts@gmail.com with the order information and we can provide tracking information.
Anything else we should know?
The best place to find out what’s going on in the shop at any given time is to follow our instagram page. We post the latest drops, test prints, pre-order alerts, deals, sales and more information on there.
We normally only respond during business hours, so the quickest way to get in touch with us and ask a question is to call the shop when we’re open. Direct messages, late night emails, etc. can get missed, so please contact us during business hours and we’ll be happy to help. We love to represent Houston as much as you do, so come by the shop, check us out, and we’ll make sure you walk out repping the 713!
What's the 713 About?
The name 713 Shirts is derived from the original area code for the City of Houston, and 713 Shirts was created to represent H-town with timeless designs and unmatched creativity. When we decided to name ourselves 713 Shirts, we knew that we had to come correct, and in the time we’ve been open, we believe that we’ve developed an unparalleled portfolio of original designs that would make any Houstonian proud.
With an inclusive catalog that tries to represent everyone from every corner of the city, we like to make shirts that can be worn now and well into the future. We’re proud to say that our customers come from all over and from every walk of life, so if you represent Houston, we like to think that you’ll find something you will love in our store.
We make a lot of shirts that say Houston, H-town, 713 etc. on them, but we also represent for the state of Texas and far beyond that. But even when we’re making designs with a more universal appeal, we always try to sprinkle a little bit of the 713 flavoring in the mix.
What's the backstory?
713 Shirts was created by local artist Chris P in 2014. After transitioning from the mental health field and into the world of screen printing, the website was opened and an online presence was developed.
Over the years, viral social media posts and high profile projects helped Chris gain national and international recognition, and demand for his artistic services and attention to detail increased. After buying his first DTG machine and building up a following online, the brick and mortar store was opened in the heart of Southwest Houston in November of 2016, right in the same neighborhood where Chris grew up.
The idea was to create a unique shopping experience focused on art and creativity. We not only wanted the designs to be creative, but we wanted a place where customers can be creative with their clothing, and after all this time, there still isn’t any other store like us.
A word from our founder.
As a kid, my dad showed me how to be an entrepreneur right down the street from where the shop is today. He was a big part of creating the store, as he built pretty much everything in there. Phil Pappas was a great guy and I miss him, but he’ll always be a part of what we do here, and I’m sure he’d be proud of what we’re building towards.
Over the years we’ve done custom printing and designs for countless people, businesses, and organizations. You might have seen our work on TV, online, in the papers, on billboards or elsewhere, but as an artist with a love for this city and all things Houston related, it makes me most proud to see our designs on you. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. – Chris P
